DHL has launched its “Fashion and Apparel Centre of Excellence” in Pakistan to facilitate trade within the region, Europe and North America. DHL fashion Logistics is already opened in India and Sri Lanka.

The logistics hub will be DHL’s third Fashion and Apparel Centre for Excellence in South Asia.

DHL Fashion Logistics:

South Asia is a key sourcing, manufacturing and distribution base for the global fashion industry. So the logistics sector is worth over US$3.9 billion per annum, and it forms a critical component in the global supply chains of the world’s best-known brands says Mr. Amadou Diallo, DHL Global Forwarding CEO for South Asia Pacific.

Pakistan’s Growth Potential:

DHL Global Forwarding CEO for South Asia Pacific says  They are very optimistic about Pakistan’s growth potential. Being strategically located in Pakistan is uniquely positioned to capitalize on the increasing trade flows between South Asia and Europe.

Pakistan fashion apparel has come into great demand in countries such as Australia, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Russia, the United Kingdom and the United States of America (US).

The share of the textile industry in the Pakistan economy along with its contribution to exports, employment, foreign exchange earnings, investments and value-added makes its single largest manufacturing sector of the country.

It contributes around 8.5 percent to GDP, employs 38 percent of the total manufacturing labor force and contributes between 60-70 percent to total merchandise export.

Indeed, with exports reaching around US$10 billion, Pakistan is one of the largest textile exporters in the world with the US and European Union being the largest trading partner followed by China, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
